Döner -- lamb roasted on a spit and then shaved off in thin slices, usually served over rice or in a sandwich. Short for Döner kebap, from the Turkish for rotating, turning, rotary.

Anyone who had a Döner sure loves it. Some in the U.S. say that a Gyro would be as good, but hey... growing up in Germany I know that there is nothing better than good turkish flavor marinated beef or lamb on a stick. If there would be one close by my house, I know where I would go right now!
